Gold doesn’t tarnish, rust or decay, this is why it is known as the most noble of metals. Its shine and color adds a touch of prestige to the wearer and is considered very valuable, both as jewellery and as an investment. Traditionally, kings, emperors, and dignataries were known to accumulate great quantities of this metal as a sign of power and prestige.

If you belong to a wealthy family, it is very likely that you already possess an abundant variety of gold bracelets and jewellery. Either your ancestors handed them to you down the line, or your husband or relatives purchased them for you on special occasions. Nowadays it is very common to purchase men´s gold bracelets.

If you belong to the middle class, you probably have a few pieces of jewellery, inherited from your mother or grandmother. They are very precious to you and you intend to pass them to your daughter as part of her heirloom. Maybe your fiancé bought you a gold ring with a diamond, a golden heart jewelry or even some gold charm bracelets when you were courting.

If you have been happily married for a long time and reached your 50th anniversary –which is very rare these days–, you may celebrate what they call in many countries ¨The Gold Marriage¨. It is traditional for an older couple –that stuck together for such a long time–, to remarry and have a nice celebration with friends and relatives. At this time, the attendants are supposed to present you with gifts of gold. Is in these occasions that buying him or her a gold bangle bracelet –with the special date engraved on it–, would be the right thing to do. She will never forget always remember it.

But lets think that you are not wealthy,a middle class heiress or even married anymore. You are getting older and you did not have time or means to build a considerable selection of jewellery for yourself. Maybe you have a ring from your former marriage, or some earrings. If this is the case, why not buy yourself a gold bracelet? You deserve it! You have worked hard, loved a lot, sacrificed a lot, lived a lot, but nobody bought you such an expensive gift. Go to the jewellery shop and get yourself a good sized 14 k gold bracelet. Chose a nice one and don’t hesitate to pay the price. It is your gift to yourself, for being a good person all your life. It is also an investment, as you can always sell it in the gold pawn shop or any gold scrap shop if you need instant cash in the future.

Enjoy life as you go into your golden days and feel special with your beautiful gold bracelet.

Selling Your Scrap Gold: There are many commercials that encourage the viewing public to go through their old jewelry boxes and drawers to try to find any gold bracelets or jewelry they are no longer wearing. These same companies promise to mail you a hefty check right away. However why is selling scrap gold now being solicited from the general public? Do the companies on television live up to the hype? Is it better to simply go to your local pawn shop with your gold bangle bracelets or your white gold bracelets and get an estimate?

Well to answer the first question, gold has always been a means of trade, investing, and commerce. With the decline of the dollar, the value of gold seems to increase. This has caused many investors to value gold more now than they would have in years past. Add to that the fashion industry’s recent dismissal of gold –as the back drop for wedding rings and jewelry in general– and you have an immediate interest from companies who feel they can get the millions who’ve bought into this trend to turn in their gold, so they in turn can recycle it for investing, profit, etc.

A story from the cash for gold insider mentions: “As far as whether the companies on television live up to the hype, I can tell you from experience that sending in two fourteen karat gold bands or rings netted only $5.00 from one of the top commercial advertisers of selling your scrap gold. The rings should have at the very least netted $25 for the pair. When I refused and asked for the jewelry back I was offered $15.00. This let me know that some companies on television are in the business of low balling anyone who will accept their intial offer. I still refused and got my rings back. I gave them to a couple of local teen girls, who I felt had some tough breaks and they really appreciated them. I asked for nothing in return and got more satisfaction in making their day, than the $5.00 initially offered me.”

Lastly, should you check with your local pawn shop about selling your gold bracelets? I would say “Yes”. They may be able to offer you a better deal. At the very least, you will save time in waiting for an answer that may be less than favorable. Selling your scrap gold may net you more than you anticipate if you have a lot of high end gold, but select your items wisely, as this precious commodity may come back in style in the future!

Aren´t toddlers amazing creatures that never cease to surprise and thrill us? Just their presence in your life already seem to get the best out of you.

When your “baby” starts walking and saying her first words, your heart warms up and expands in order to accommodate this little new addition to your life. They used to say that children have you wrapped out around their little finger and it is ever so true.

The first step of your toddler is a milestone. To commemorate this important event, it would be a good investment to buy his first toddler jewellery. Most parents –and even grandparents–purchase gold bracelets, as they are safer than rings or earrings.

Another good time to buy a good gold bracelet is for the second birthday. You can inflate a bunch of wholesale balloons, tie them all together in a big bouquet and attach them to a little jewellery box to be offered to your child. She will love it!.

A whole world opens up for the new walker who now sees the world from a different perspective: There are so many new possibilities and things to explore!

His network expands amongst neighbours and relatives. His older siblings start accepting the toddler as a little person: He is not the “baby” anymore.

The toddler´s fascination for stuffed animals, mobiles and baby toys, start fading away as new interests emerge.

What is so special about that computer screen? How can it keep his family so absorbed? A toddler will look over your shoulder when you are surfing the web. His perception of cybernetics is almost incredible. Toddlers can absorb electronics faster than anyone else. Their brains are brand new and extremely hungry for information. It is not rare to see 2 year olds sitting on their mom or dad’s lap when they are working with the computer, avidly soaking everything.

There are some interactive computer games geared for very young audiences that can keep their interest and teach them the basic principles of colors, shapes, animals, numbers, letters, phonics, etc. You will be amazed to see how fast they can learn… and also how fast the game will be discarded as obsolete. You will soon need to upgrade to something more sophisticated for your toddler’s electronic hunger.

Some publishers –like Fisher Price–, sell a variety of didactic computer games classified in the categories INFANT, TODDLER and PRESCHOOLER.

Although electronic games are challenging to the intellect of your toddler, there are other more important areas in their development that need attention too, like interacting with others, bonding with people and pets, learning how to get dressed and undressed, eat by themselves, etc.

There is nothing that will build your toddlers self esteem and mould his character better, than spending good quality time with him, bonding, playing together and yes, reading an old fashioned book while sitting on your lap or telling them their favourite bedtime story.

And remember to keep adding to his/her collection of valuable jewellery as an investment for her future. Gold bangle bracelets, gold charm bracelets, white gold bracelets, all will someday come in handy.

Her beautiful silk gown flew down her feminine silhouette. Her maid had just braided her shiny, black hair with a string of pink pearls and Jasmine blossoms in the latest Roman fashion. Her hand rested on the silver belt with dangling charms that Senator Julius had given her as a birthday present. Old Julius was courting Flavia and covering her with presents of jewellery, exotic birds, species, musical instruments, gourmet delicacies, etc. But she would not reciprocate his feelings. ¨Why should I?¨ –thought Flavia–¨ He is old and flabby, and I can’t stand his raspy voice. I wish a handsome young man would court me instead of him… Why is dad so interested in me marrying Flavius? Money, I suppose.¨

A cloud of dust on the horizon caught her attention. “Who could that be? Maybe dad is coming back from Gallia!” She ran down the marble stairs and into the garden, anticipating the arrival of the warriors. A few minutes later his father’s chariot stopped at the gate. General Maximus stepped down followed by two big slaves, one black, and the other white with blond hair.

“Flavia! Come see what i have brought you from Galia!” –said the general– as he motioned a slave to unload the trunk from the chariot. He opened it to reveal precious silks, cashmeres and dainty embroidered garments. Flavia was very happy to see her beloved father and hugged him tenderly. “Thanks dad! Everything looks gorgeous!”

She couldn’t help but give the blond slave a long look. He was well build, handsome, had blue eyes –like she had never seen before–, and his skin was whiter than snow. “He looks like a god…” –thought Flavia–. She noticed that he was wearing a thick gold bracelet or gold bangle bracelet in his forearm. It had beautiful foreign designs.

“Flavia, this is Kovak, a norse prince that my soldiers captured in one of our battles with the Vikings.” –said the general– with a twinkle in his eye. Kovak suddenly took off his precious mens gold bracelet and gave it to Flavia with a smile. “My lady, please accept this gold bracelet as a token of my surrender, not only to Rome, but to its beautiful princess.” His look made her blush, as she gently accepted the gift.

Kovak swiftly joined the other slaves. Maximus smiled at Flavia and asked: ¨”So, did you like my present…?” And Flavia, caressing the new gold bangle bracelet –now in her forearm–whispered: “Yes, Dad. I love it! It is just what I always wanted!”.

Crystal Habits:
nuggets, grains, wires, dendritic and arborescent

crystal clusters.

When you buy your next gold bracelets, it is good to think a bit about what you are purchasing. Remember that Gold is one of the most beautiful elements on earth. Because it is so malleable, it can be easily hammered into thin sheets. Its ductile property allow it to easily be stretched into a very thin wire. These special attributes, make gold very useful for jewellers to work with and produce beautiful jewellery. It is also minted to produce Gold coins.

Gold is rare, but can be found all over the world, in either form of nuggets, flakes or dust. The larger deposits are called quartz conglomerates and account for around the 20% of the world´s Gold. The largest deposits are found in South Africa.
Deposits of Gold are also collected in rivers. After mining or prospecting, gold is extracted from deposits by processing it with sodium or potassium cyanide to remove other materials. When you show off your gold bangle bracelets, remember what it cost to bring it all the way to you!

To keep cost down and make Gold harder, sometimes it is alloyed with other metals like copper or silver. When mixed with these metals, Gold changes its color. If Iron is present, its called Blue Gold. When missed with more Silver than Copper, its Green Gold. Pink or Rose Gold, consists of 50% gold, 45% Copper and 5% Silver. Rose Gold makes wonderful gold charm bracelets. To make white gold, they mix Nickel, Zinc, Copper. So this new white gold bracelet you just purchased is a mixture of good metals.

Measures

Experts calculate the amount of Gold in an Alloy by the Karat system.

24kt.: 100% Gold-very soft
18kt.: 75% Gold-will not tarnish; softer than 14kt., but with a deeper color
14kt.: 58.33% Gold-will not tarnish
12kt.: 50% Gold
10kt.: 41.6% Gold; less than 10kt. cannot be called Gold in the US or 9kt. in the UK.
Gold wont dissolve in Aqua Regia, so this acid is used to determine if a metal is Gold.

The higher Karat Gold jewellery is more resistant to tarnishing.

Techniques used in Goldworking
Electroplating: Electrically coating another metal with gold.
Filigree: Creating a decoration with Gold wire into an object by welding it in.
Granulation: Forming shapes on embossed metal by using very small balls of Gold .
Interassile: Piercing designs into gold thin sheets.
Repoussé: Hammering a relief in a negative mold into the Gold sheet
Rolled Gold: Gold is laminated onto a less expensive sheet of metal, heated till they are joined together and then rolled into a workable thin sheet.
Nowadays you can buy a very sofisticated 14k gold bracelet for a decent price in many online jewlery stores.

Gold has always been a symbol of power, wealth and beauty. From time immemorial, people have used Gold in form of jewellery to adorn themselves or to please their gods. It is also a financial asset as well as an outward statement of their high status quo.

The first mention of Gold in the Bible is found in the book of Genesis, where we are informed that “there was good Gold in the land of Havilah” ( which is believed by scholars to be Saudi Arabia and Yemen). There were many Gold mines in those lands in Bible days, from which Solomon and other kings, obtained the precious metal in order to supply their wives and concubines with Gold charm bracelets and other beautiful jewellery.

The book of Enoch seems to indicate that the Nephilim or fallen angels, gave Gold bracelets to the daughters of men when they were courting, and also after they became their wives and begat children.

They taught men how to mine it , melt it and craft fine jewellery to adorn themselves, their women andtheir gods.

Seems like ever since, all civilizations have lusted after this amazing noble metal, whose abundant possession has the power of making any person rich and respected.

This metal inspires a deep lust in mankind, -almost akin to worship- and the ingrained desire to accumulate it is definitely as prevalent or more in our days.

Because of its amazing malleable properties and lack of toxicity, Gold was also used to manufacture vessels, cups, plates and silverware and used in the palaces and mansions of kings and nobles.

Idols were crafted out of Gold and worshipped in many nations.

New Age Healers believe that Gold is also a generator of energy and that can be used not only to remove blockages in the cardiovascular system, but also to strengthen and energize your body.
